I like the lack of all over light. The spot light let's you emphasize what you wish to reveal. It leaves the viewer anticipating what's next.

Oh yeah- I was actually at the National Museum of History in D.C. for the weekend and I kind of stumbled on the exhibit...I was SOOO excited (A) for the exhibit and (B) for wearing my favorite shirt on the right day. It was a really GOOD exhibit, and treated the Rasta movement with respect as a culturally rich spiritual/political movement. It's definitely a good show :)

About Me:
I am interested in the arts especially film and installation. I have recently started experimenting in video-art and photography as a way of expressing and releasing positive energy. I would love to make a film or films around the black lesbian theme. At the moment I’m to take a year out to focus on some art projects. One is working in the local community; facilitating art projects with high school students. And the other is a working progress - a heritage project .

The 26-year-old, from south London, beat contenders including La Roux and Kasabian to win the £20,000 prize.

She said afterwards that her win proved "if you believe in something and you think you can do it, you can".

I'm off to South Africa in 5 days!

As the post title states - yes I'm off to South Africa for 10 weeks to a rural town called Mamre about 30km away from Cape Town. I will be travelling with 14 others from various places in the U.K. I have been funded by DFID, BUNAC, Christian Aid and Islamic Aid to volunteer as a youth arts community worker. I'll also will be learning how to grow vegetables and to help create an eco-garden, which I'm thoroughly looking forward to, as I've never stepped foot in my garden.

It is going to be an int… Continue

U People - Popz Response

I watched U People with my father; it was not intentional but it just happened naturally. I was watching the film in the living room & my father came in, and began watching. I honestly think it was the beautiful black women that enticed him. He was completely glued to the screen from beginning to end. He said it was strange for him to watch a 'lesbian themed' film, nevertheless he thoroughly enjoyed it. The stories of diverse women of colour who happened to be 'queer', managed to keep a stra… Continue
